Spanish Starts Here

Dreaming of exploring Spain or Latin America? Start with the language that helps you connect with the people you meet. From ordering a coffee to finding your hotel, a little Spanish can make everyday travel moments more enjoyable.
Hibiscus Academy’s Spanish for Travel: A Beginner’s Introduction offers a practical starting point for complete beginners. Across three Sundays, you will explore useful travel dialogues, build your own simple sentences and practise speaking in a supportive classroom.

Learn Spanish You Can Use on Your Travels
The lessons centre on situations travellers regularly encounter. You will practise greeting people, introducing yourself, ordering food and drinks, asking prices, making purchases, checking in at a hotel and buying transport tickets.
You will also learn how to ask someone to repeat a sentence or speak more slowly—useful skills when a conversation moves beyond the expressions you have rehearsed.
Guided dialogues, pair activities and role-plays give you opportunities to put the language into practice. In the final lesson, a simulated travel experience brings together what you have learned.
Understand How Spanish Sentences Work
Alongside useful expressions, the course introduces the three regular Spanish verb groups: -ar, -er and -ir.
Using examples such as hablar (to speak), comer (to eat) and vivir (to live), you will discover how verb endings change in the simple present tense. These patterns provide a foundation for building sentences of your own.
Essential irregular expressions, such as quiero… (I want…) and tengo una reserva (I have a reservation), will also be introduced through practical travel exchanges.
The aim is to help you handle simple, familiar interactions while developing an initial understanding of Spanish grammar.
